Ant McPartlin was forced to miss the last few episode of 2018’s Saturday Night Takeaway due to problems in his personal life. Subsequently, he announced he was taking the rest of the year off work to focus his recovery. Now, Stephen Mulhern, who presents some segments on Saturday Night Takeaway, has revealed the series’ return is not yet confirmed.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the magician said: “They haven’t said yet. I really hope it does because it’s such a good show. And being part of it was an absolute result. I’ve got every single thing crossed that it does come back. Because it deserves to.
Rather than bring in a replacement co-host for the tail end of this year’s series Declan Donnelly hosted alone. However, rather than Dec fly out to Australia to host I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! solo, he’ll be joined by a familiar face.
It was announced earlier this year that This Morning favourite Holly Willoughby would be stepping into Ant’s shoes. Back in August, when it was revealed, Holly said: “I couldn’t be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure.
She went on: “These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit. I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery.
