It was a phenomenal finale for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, with the final four couples Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev, Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell, Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton and Giovanni Pernice and Faye Tozer all battling it out to lift up the glitter trophy.
But after three dances per couple, the public have spoken and crowned their 2018 champions – deciding that Stacey and Kevin were worthy winners.
The pair looked utterly exasperated as they were told they had beat out the competition to win the show, with Kev even dropping to the floor in shock the moment the results were announced.
As they were given the coveted glitterball trophy, Stacey tearfully said to Kevin: “You know how highly I think of you. It’s no coincidence you’ve been in the final as much as you have. I had the most incredible time. “Kevin walks you through, and you so deserve this. It is Kevin’s first ever victory, after being a losing finalist four times.
It was the public that voted for the loveable pair to win the show, with the final based entirely on public votes.
Had it have come from the judges, Stacey and Kevin would have actually come fourth out of the four final pairs after scoring 114 out of a possible total of 120. Both Ashley and Pasha and Faye and Giovanni were given top marks for all three dances in the final.
