Corrie’s Norris set to return to the cobbles with a MASSEIVE twist

Coronation Street fans are about to see Norris finally return to the cobbles, but there’s set to be a big twist. After a year off from the soap, Norris, who plays the iconic character, will be making his comeback later this year.

The actor is currently filming new scenes for the soap after being spotted back on set for the first time since December 2017. However, it’s now emerged that Norris will apparently not be returning to the cobbles alone.

Not only will the character have a new love interest, but he’ll be engaged! It will be revealed Norris is engaged to Freda Burges who fans may remember as the nice of Emily Bishop. A source reportedly told The Sun: “Norris’s first scenes were never going to go under the radar. But no one thought he’d come back an engaged man.

He turns up with Freda and reveals they are getting married and want to buy a house together. They went on: “She and Norris have got closer while he has been staying with her and Emily in the time Malcolm needed off for his condition. Freda hasn’t been seen on the soap since 2010, when she paid a quick visit to her aunt.

Last year Norris’s imminent return was teased by Corrie boss Iain MacLeod, who shared hopes to have the character return full-time.
