Gemma Collins has finally stepped down from her feud with Jason Gardiner after being eliminated from Dancing on Ice. The Only Way is Essex star, 37, erupted at Jason during her second appearance on the rink. She accused Jason, 47, of selling stories on her before branding him “boring. Weeks after their clash, Gemma has now said she regrets her outburst at the TV judge.
Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning, Gemma called time on their disagreement. When asked if she regretted the spat, Gemma admitted: “Yeah, I do. He’s only there to do his job.
“I was fine with what he was saying about my skating, but I didn’t like it when he body-shamed me and because that hurt me and I felt embarrassed that’s why I attacked back.
I think the first form of defence is attack, isn’t it? It’s just when he went, ‘We can’t lift you’. We know that, Jason. We all knew I was never going to be able to be lifted. I was just out there doing my thing, I had to skate more.”
Gemma went on to quip: “I would have loved to have been spun around for a count of eight and twisted and all of that business they do. I would have loved it.
Jason took a different view on Gemma’s exit when he appeared on Lorraine before Gemma’s This Morning interview. He told Lorraine Kelly: “I’m relieved for the other contestants that are in the show who are really brilliant that now the focus can be on their merit and how hard they’ve worked.
“I didn’t know who Gemma was until this series, I’ve never seen her show so I wasn’t familiar with who she was. There was nothing personal until it got personal and she accused me of something really quite libellous. It was disturbing because she never actually apologised, either. I think that just shows character.
